  • Micro Cements come in many different formulations and brands, while they are generally thought to be the same, they vary widely in composition. Micro Cements are generally made of Cement, aggregates, polymer, additives, pigment. Some have more chemical additives to make them stronger, flexible and waterproof, these Micro Cements are made of mostly chemicals. Other Micro Cement Manufacturers will reduce chemicals, add crushed limestone in addition to European fine aggregates relying on centuries of knowledge vs. brute chemical strength. Micro cement finishes should be part of a larger system(showers & Exterior) and the total Micro cement thickness ranges from 1/16-3/16” thickness depending on installer methods.

  • Tadelakt is both a particular type of plaster and a distinct application process; both elements are essential for it to be considered authentic Tadelakt. Many folks use the name interchangeably to describe a specific look in plaster shower situations. Tadelakt plaster material is comprised of lime, crushed aggregates and an organic binder. This can vary greatly depending on the region. The modern day tadelakt process is waterproofing, thin-set scratch coat, lime base coat, Tadelakt prime coat, wet-on-wet Tadelakt coats, sealer application. 100% authentic Tadelakt is sealed with Olive Oil Soap. We prefer modern day wax sealers, they provide the authentic look and feel but perform better over time.
